1. The first picture I chose to edit was a picture of my son Rory and husband Joe. This photo was taken at my son's first birthday party last October. I put a border on this picture, adjusted the size, and adjusted the clarity a little bit!

 

2. The second picture that I chose is an old picture of my son Rory. I added text with his name, and adjusted the size of the image. Then I lighted it up a bit and played with the contrast so that the light from the window in our home was more visible on his blanket. 

3. This last photo is a picture of Adam Scott, who about an hour ago won the masters. I added some hearts around the edge of the photo, adjusted the size, and applied a tranquil effect to the picture.

 

 

Cabin Fever!

For most of us, February is a tough month. We are growing tired of the cold, bitter New York weather; and our children are starting to drive us insane. Never fear, there is always something that you can do to keep those busy little bodies entertained for the last few weeks before spring! Here are some ideas that have been working wonders for me!

1. Build a toddler friendly obstacle course. Toddlers love to learn by doing, and if this isn't guided and constructive then everyone suffers. To avoid a destroyed house and decorated walls try building forts and obstacle courses with blankets and pillows.
2. Let your toddler help with chores! You might think this one seems a little crazy, as most of the time your toddler is probably pulling all of your Tupperware out of the cabinet, or pulling all of the books of the bookshelf. But with some guidance, this is a great two for one deal. Happy toddler, and clean house! I teach my son how to put away all of our laundry. It takes forever, but we make it fun and everyone wins!
3. Play-dates, play-dates, play-dates! This is my savior when it comes to filling those longs winter afternoons. When the weather allows it, make a date for your child to play with a friend. Not only is this entertainment for babies, it's also great fun for mom's too!

Painting with Cool Whip!

Recently, my son has started to enjoy coloring and painting. Unfortunately, he tends to chew on the crayons and color on my walls more than he actually connects with paper. A couple weeks ago we decided to try out painting with cool whip. This is such a cool idea, and it is super easy to whip together! (Ha. Ha.). Not only is this a simple craft, it provides lots of entertainment with out permanent damage to walls, floors, and furniture, and it's baby safe as well!

All you need:

1. Cupcake Pan
2. Container of Cool Whip
3. Food Coloring
4. Paint Brushes (optional)
5. Paper (try taping this to floor so that it doesn't move around too much)

Divide the cool whip into the cupcake pan and add two drops of food coloring of your choice. Voila! Paint away!
